I’ve been so into Carly’s blog lately. Previously known as Carly Heitlinger or Carly the Prepster, she recently got married and changed her name. I’ve known about her for a very long time but didn’t feel like I really connected with her content before now. We were at different points in our lives and my interests weren’t aligning with hers). Recently I feel like I’ve been in the same place as her in adult life and have connected with her content more.
I’ve become so much more interested in the things that she’s also interested in, like sewing, needlepoint, the peloton, home decor, and fashion. I’ve been getting so much more into blogging as a hobby, which is something that I’ve always been interested in but was embarrassed to share with others. It’s been fun to read through her previous posts about why and how she got into blogging. It’s nice to know that there are others out there who are as passionate about blogging as me.
This past week she announced that her and her husband are expecting a baby in August!! Even though I’m not expecting, it’s been fun to read through her experience in the first trimester. Motherhood is something I’m looking forward to experiencing someday. I could not be any more excited for them and I wish them a happy and healthy pregnancy and baby!
The True & Co Lift Scoop Adjustable Bra was actually initially recommended to me by Carly. I’ve been wanting it for about a year now but couldn’t bring myself to splurge on the price. Okay, it’s not even that expensive, but let’s face it… I’m cheap. I finally decided that I have to take better care of myself, and that includes buying new clothes if I need them, which I DEFINITELY do. So, I bought myself a brand new bra and damn it feels so good. It is SO comfortable and flattering and I will never be going back to wire bras, a.k.a. torture contraptions.
My husband and I recently started watching Ted Lasso on Apple TV and I love it!! I’m not typically a fan of Jason Sudeikis movies, but he shines in this show and it is so funny. I also love just about anything that has to do with England. We have seen just about everything during quarantine. This show is giving us something to look forward to every night. I highly recommend it!
Okay, am I a Gen-Z’er now? Is that how you spell that? Here’s a confessional for you: I wear a side part, I was born in the 90s, I own several pairs of skinny jeans, and I’m in house Hufflepuff. But Driver’s License is SO GOOD! It’s got that Katy Perry Teenage Dreams vibe where you feel like you’re 16 again and heartbroken from your first love. The melody just gets me, man.
Okay, this is another Gen Z thing, but The Ordinary products are genuinely so good! I decided that investing in some good quality skin care would help to me to feel better about myself since it’s a rare occasion to put makeup on these days. I also realized that I’m at the age where I need to be using retinol, and I needed one that wasn’t going to break the budget. It has been so nice to have an effective, affordable routine that I can look forward to every morning and evening.
