Sam Adams Brewery Tour

26 August 2017

A small brewery founded in 1984 by Jim Koch in Boston, Massachusetts – Samuel Adams. This is where it all began. With his great-great-grandfather’s recipe, Boston Lager was born, and the rest is history.

On my latest trip to Boston, we took the Sam Adams Brewery Tour to see the magic behind some of my favorite beer. I was so excited to go on this tour! For me, their Summer Ale, Boston Lager, and Oktoberfest beers are iconic.

The Sam Adams Brewery tour was free, all we had to do was wait in line! Dates and times are available on their website.

While we were waiting for the tour to begin, one of the first signs we saw was for their brewery in Cincinnati, Ohio, a city which I also have a very close connection to.

From Cincinnati to Boston, some of my favorite beer in two of my favorite cities.

As we went around the brewery, we were able to smell and taste the actual malt and hops that are used in their famous beers.

The most important part, though, was the beer tasting.

They poured pitchers of the Boston Lager, the seasonal beer (Summer Ale, my favorite), and a trial beer, which for us was the India Pale Lager.

Here’s a hint: sit at the end of the table for the beer tasting. Everyone pours a small amount into their glass, and by the time the pitcher reaches the end of the table, it’s still pretty much full.

That means more for you!

You also get complementary tasting glasses.

After the tour, step outside into the sunshine and enjoy some beers at their outdoor beer garden. Oh, and maybe arrange for alternate transportation, because I promise you’ll have a good time.

Cheers!
